In this course, the Visual Arts Department partners with the Cowell Family Cancer Center at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan to explore the intersection of arts education and healthcare through four ongoing activities:
1) Interaction and Arts at the Cowell
2) Personal art practice and reflection in response to experience in a clinical setting
3) Production of a Collaborative Work of Art
4) Curatorial experience in a clinical setting

Students are evaluated on:
Participation and engagement, Personal Growth, and being fully present (mind, body, soul), Ability to initiate and actualize new ideas, projects and relationships with the Cowell Community, Creative process understanding (developing ideas through a finished work while documenting analysis), and Artistic practice (studio maintenance, work habits, preparedness).
